London First got behind the London Olympic bid from the outset and was a great champion for all London can offer. London First contributed to the very successful Olympic and Paralympic Games and I look forward to working with them again in my new role as Commercial Secretary to the Treasury

The 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games were a tremendous opportunity to promote London as a destination for leisure and business tourism, foreign direct investment, and as a place to study. London First is working with the Mayor and various other agencies to help maximise this opportunity, ensuring that the voice of London business is heard clearly in this process.
London First also works to remove the policy barriers and influence operational decisions which affect London’s attractiveness to international audiences. These include tourist and student visa policies, the welcome visitors receive on arrival at our airports, and tax and regulatory stability and certainty.
London First is clear that tourism is a value contributor to economic growth and jobs. It is also often the first step on the path to foreign investment and trade with other economies, and as such, we must ensure that visiting the UK is a wholly positive experience – Read more
