Mayor and TfL search for Property Partners across LondonFebruary 13, 2015
Transport for London and the Mayor this week fired the starting gun for procurement of new property development partners. With around 10 million square feet from TfL’s property portfolio up for development, TfL’s aim is to generate £3.4bn in non-fares revenue over the coming decade.
Graeme Craig, Director of Commercial Development at TfL, said “We have a large number of fantastic assets in superb locations across the capital, and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for leading developers to help us transform this city. We’re looking for developers who will help us realise the long-term value of our estate whilst creating the houses, jobs and economic growth to support London’s growing population”.
Former chief executive of Land Securities (and chair of London First’s working group on funding Crossrail 2) Francis Salway will head a new TfL non-executive property advisory group in a related move to bring in additional private sector expertise.
London First will shortly be hosting Graeme Craig for the latest in a series of member briefings on how TfL can maximise the commercial potential of its property portfolio. Interested members should hold Tuesday 14th April in your diaries for this invitation-only briefing and reception.
