Lifting restrictions on high earning migrant workers a step in the right directionFebruary 16, 2011
Commenting on the Home Office announcement on high earners being excluded from the permanent immigration cap
Baroness Jo Valentine, Chief Executive of London First, said:
“It’s refreshing to see that Government is listening to business concerns. Many of London’s biggest global employers will be delighted with the restrictions on high earners being lifted.
“Non-EU highly skilled migrants bring huge value to business, UK plc and the Exchequer – business needs the continued ability to attract the brightest and the best from wherever in the world. This is a welcome step, but the government needs to sweep away restrictions which stop business getting the right people and skills needed to grow the economy.”
