How business, police and government are working together to enhance public safety, starting with the run up to this summer’s major events
In partnership with the Metropolitan Police, Home Office and Bank of England, London First has created a two-way communications system to share relevant safety and security information between the police and government in London, and business. The system provides a fast-time, single and reliable information source that will help businesses both prepare for the unexpected and deal with incidents should they arise. Business can also feed back information to the centre, helping to support the work of the authorities.
This was introduced in the run up to the Olympics but now that the Games are over, this structure will provide a lasting legacy of improved communications. The system will provide advice about ongoing threats and risks, and can be called upon in the event of major incidents in the capital in the future.
Any London business can become a part of this Cross-sector Safety and Security Communications project and register to receive updates through Neighbourhood Link
