How business must change to thrive in the 21st centuryJune 3, 2016
We have a few places left for our Leadership Lecture with Lord Browne, former chief executive officer of BP, and Tommy Stadlen, a tech entrepreneur, who have co-authored ‘Connect: How Companies Succeed by Engaging Radically With Society’.
The authors point to a rift that has existed between business and society for 2,000 years, despite the positive role business has played in society.
They argue that organisations will pay heavily if they don’t act openly, honestly and proactively with society and they must learn how to connect profoundly with the world around them – not only with customers and shareholders.
John and Tommy will be discussing some key themes around:
- Restoring society’s broken trust in business, government, police and authority,
- Why reputation is an outcome, not a construct to be managed,
- Why radical engagement is vital in an era of relentless transparency.
The event takes place on Wednesday 29 June and will be chaired by Craig Mackey, Deputy Commissioner, Metropolitan Police Service.
